New Dress!

You can never have too many dresses, right?
This cherry pink H&M dress will be great for the summer, and can also be worn with a sleeve or even a shirt underneath - while waiting for the warm weather...
In addition to pink, the dress also come in black and white. Black is of course very easy to wear, but not very inventive. Thus, I figured I'd go for the bright - for once;)

Blog Shoes

After reading about blogger Zava Palmer's just purchased silver shoes, I came to think of my golden shoes that used to belong to my Grandmother. Didn't they look exactly the same as Zava's? Jupp! After a quick examine, I'm pretty sure these two pairs belong to the same "shoe family". Considering these shoes are more than fifty years old, that's quite coincidental:)

A Walk In The Park

Finally, the sun hit Oslo on a Saturday! This, of course, had to be taken advantages of by strolling around the city. Oslo might be dull in the winter, but as soon the sun is shining, it lights up wildly. Also, people seem happier and the trees blossom beautifully.
This was the first time I got to use my new secondhand shirt dress that I found at Boucherie, the Parisian vintage store. My mom used to wear something similar in the 80's, but as fashion is circular, I now think it's time to bring it back into life.

...and that's how it ended

Just a picture of the "real outfit" yesterday night:
Jacket: April 77
T-shirt: designed by my sister
Shorts: Zara
Shoes: ASOS
Purse: Becksöndergaard, Copenhagen

Party Friday!

I know they say that time's moving fast when you're having fun. I don't know that about my working week, but at least the Friday is here. Lovely!
Tonight I'm going to a friend's birthday party. He's promised to serve tapas, so that sounds...well, promising!:)
The outfit will probably be something like in this picture: Shorts, thick tights, and heels.
The faux leather jacket is new from Paris - another masterpiece from April 77! (I'm indeed attracted to their punk style...)
Have a superb weekend, everyone!

Women Who Cannes Dress

Actresses and other golden stars are indeed showing off their extravagant wardrobes these days on the Cannes Film Festival 2007. Here are a few pictures of some that I think stand out a bit from the flashy crowd (you can click on the picture to make it bigger).

I've been tagged...!

I've been tagged by fashionfiles to complete this meme-thing, in which you are supposed to answer certain questions by using illustrations. Hey ho! Here we go:

What are you good at?

What scares you the most?

Who would play you in the movie about your life?

Who are you dreaming of kissing?

What is your dream profession?

Which song would you sing on an audition for Pop Idol?

What's the best thing about your home town?

What would you do if you were the prime minister for one day?

What do you dream about?

How come you're not a celebrity, really?

Puh! That's it!

Just Discovered Vintage Shop in Paris

Quite often, the best things in life come around when it's least expected. Luck, love... and shopping bargains!
I discovered this amazing vintage store on my way to the Canal St. Martin, with no shopping in mind and little cash in my wallet.
Still, I dragged my boyfriend inside the treasure house and found this lovely white dress at just 15 euros. The dress is probably meant to be a bridesmaid dress, but when it comes to fashion, my rule is: There are no rules.
The question is now: Is this a kind of dress I can wear to a wedding party?
The shop:
Boucherie
Rue Lucien Sampaix
10.arr
M: Jaques Bonsergent

Dashy the Dragonfly

This golden dragonfly necklace is soon on its way from Australia to my mail box. Hurrah!
I've long been looking for a pendant with a long gold chain, and this was both adorable and inexpensive. Could it be better?
The necklace is from the ebay store Love Chrissa. Check out her store to see her other cute items.

Marc Jacobs in Paris

Finally, I made it to the Marc Jacobs concept store situated near Palais Royal in Paris. The store was classy, yet edgy, and housed lots of (expensive) girl candies...
Fortunately, not everything was out of my league. Marc Jacobs' collection of T-shirts are just brilliant for us who want a bit of casual glamour:) Coming home with me, did also the extraordinary Marc Jacobs fresh cucumber fragrance. The perfume comes in 300 ml bottles only, which gives a good value for money. Me like!

Paris Update

The Fashion Economist is now reporting from Paris, where the weather is warm and fashion is cool. Parisians really know how to dress. Thus, sitting on a sidewalk café watching people passing by is an ideal way to be inspired.
Each borrough has its own style, ranging from the classic uptown chic to the casual cool - and everything in between. Most frequently observed might perhaps be oversized tops/tunics with leggings and ballerinas for girls, and faded black slimfit jeans and bomber jackets in leather for boys.
Other oberved trends are: beige trench coats (a true classic!), designer "it" bags and the LV "Speedy", and cropped jackets.
It might sound ordinary, but somehow the French manage to look undenably trendy in a "too-cool to -care-way". After all, we are in Paris - la cité de la mode.

My Neighbour is Nice

Apparently, my neighbour must be either very rich or a bit stupid to throw away this metallic leather bag from Bottega Veneta. The bag and the cute looking scarf was placed in a box together with some other stuff in the basement. The box had the following note tagged on: Please help yourself. What's left will be given to the salvation army (Fretex).

The bag is just lovely and fits great with the summer's metallic trend. The leather feels nice and soft, but still I'm a bit doubtful. Can it really be an authentic Bottega Veneta? I'm not that familiar with their bag, but I do know they're high class. Can anyone help me with authenticating it?

Real or faux, the bag goes well with today's simple outfit, that's comprised of a sweater from H&M and jeans from Fornarina

The voluminous Dress

You will hardly find a more comfortable piece of clothing than a voluminous dress. It's easy to wear and can be styled in a dozen ways.
The dress in the left picture is from H&M, while sienna Miller rocks up hers with a crop leather jacket and black tights.
Both of them look smashing!

Can't Get Enough of Paris

I love Paris in the spring time
I love Paris in the fall
I love Paris in the summer when it sizzles
I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles

I love Paris every moment
Every moment of the year
I love Paris, why oh why do I love Paris
Because my love is here
Frank Sinatra

... and that's why I decided a couple of days ago to spend 17th. May and the weekend in Paris.
Life's good!

The Streets of Stockholm

The Sartorialist has been to Stockholm to capture pictures of plenty of street fashionable Swedes. Both profiled blogger, Sigrid and fashion journalist, Sofi Fahrman have had their pictures taken. Most certain not coincidental.... And me who thought the purpose of this street fashion blog was to catch the tendencies observed out on the street, and not made up looks. But now I really start wondering whether most street fashion blogs only show a created reality.

See all the Stocholm pictures here to make up your own mind.

Casual Friday

YES! I don't care if Monday's blue... cause now it's Friday:)
Today, I felt for going casual, wearing a shirt from H&M, top from Bik Bok, and my April 77 jeans. The belt, scarf, and pearl bracelet are all "classics" from my closet.

Vogue Goes For the Solarium

Although I dislike tanning beds, I was quite stunned by the inventiveness of this photo spread in The French Vogue's May edition. I've never seen something like this before, but the light from the solarium gives a cool effect on the pictures.
Who says bikini shots can't be done off the beach?!?

Designer Sunglasses For Less!

Arriving in Paris, my two(!) pair of sunglasses were waiting for me at my boyfriend's. They were even greater looking than presumed, so now I'm all set for the Summer;)

And the best of all: These two cost me less than the price of one pair in Norway. Impossible you say?
Here's the deal:
Sunglassesfashion.com (also known as Atelier Ottico) is an Italian web shop that offers sunglasses from more than 70 brands. Gucci, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Dior, Tom Ford - you name it! The selection is wide, almost too wide if you intend to pick out one pair (that's way I ended up with two!)
Anyway, the prices are a lot lower than in stores, shipping is free and tax is subtracted for non-EU costumers. This makes it attractive even for Norwegian customers after duties are paid.

Example:
Tom Ford, "Fonda": Price at Sunglasses fashion: 153€ (exl. VAT), about 1260 NOK. Including import duties and charges for Norway: about 1760 NOK
Price in Norway: About 3300 NOK (402€)

See?
The only thing I don't like about this site, is that it's really slow. It takes quite long to launch the pages, so you need to be patient while clicking.
Well, I guess as long as there's money to save, it's worth spending some time on it?!

Today I'm wearing...

... a good mix of recently bought and old clothes put together in a new way. After all, the best thing about buying something new is that it freshens up your existing wardrobe!

Dress: H&M
Grey top: Voice of Europe (bought years ago)
Leggings: Lindex
Shoes: From Saturday's shopping
Leather jacket: Bik Bok
Scarf: From an outlet sale
Belt: Mulberry
Necklace: From Portobello Road Market

Moving Fast

In the blog world, as with technology in general, things develop quickly. Returning from a two weeks break from the blogging, I seem to have missed out on a lot, like today's blog gathering in the park. Hope those of you who showed up had a good time. I'd like to join next time:)

Also, I just found out that the Swedish fashionista, Elin Kling, has come out with her own blog. Another blog that I've recently discovered is that of Alisa from Bergen. Her video clips are marvellous!

I shall never break from my blog again...

Girl in Oslo

Today, I've been walking a lot around the city. First stop was Bogstadveien, that was turned into a pedestrian area for its seasonal market day. Lots of people were hunting for the lucrative markdowns, and for shop owners, this day is probably a great opportunity to reduce their inventory;)

I bought a pair of ballerina shoes from Maloix at Hector. They were surprisingly comfortable and go with almost everything. With the proper rubber sole I could really notice the difference from my cheap ballerinas. So when it comes with shoes, I guess the price mirrors the quality...

If you have the chance, you should definitely stop by United Bakeries at Paléet in Oslo for a raisin wheat bun. They're huge, heavy and hearty. Next to the buns at Åpent Bakeri, these are my absolute favourite. Yummy! I haven't tasted their brownie yet, but that didn't look bad either...:p

Today's outfit consisted of: Shorts from Paul & Joe Sister (bought in Paris), vest from H&M, bolero from Bik Bok, and vintage necklace from St.Hanshaugen Secondhand.

A Scent of Blueberry

Despite my boyfriend's scepticism about scenting the apartment with blueberry aromas, I couldn't resist this room spray from Autour du monde, Paris. The perfume, which is available in 12 different scents, makes my apartment smell like it's just been cleaned. Mmmm!

Today's Outfit - Friday!

Today, I took a deep dive into my closet to find this green baby doll, that I've bought at a market in Shanghai. I styled it up with leggings, ballerinas from London (can't remember what store), and my dear Chloé. The necklace is from Dyrberg/Kern.

The Fashion Bible

If I can't afford to buy a runway piece, I would always own the entire collection in paperback;)
This fashion bible contains pictures of all collections from the fall/winter 2008 fashion weeks.
130 fashion houses, 2600 looks, 1100 accessories from Paris, Milan, London, and New York - it's all in the book!

I wasn't even aware of its existence, so when I saw this Vogue collection at the News Agent's, I just had to buy it. Definitely great for getting an overview of the fashion picture and to find inspiration.

I'm Back!

I'm sorry for the lacking blog updates. I've been a "busy bee" lately and been travelling to Paris. For those of you who consider visiting the City of Love, I warmly recommend going at this time of the year. Spring in Paris is like a Norwegian summer, meaning 25 degrees and lively street life! Mmm.. I love it!
Enjoy a picnic by the Seine or share a bottle of wine on Pont des Arts, the pedestrian bridge over La Seine. The scenery is breathtaking and the air is warm (writing this makes me want to go back right away).
Furthermore, the stores are filled with stunningly beautiful dresses and irresistible summer collections. If only I were rich.... Fortunately, window shopping is free, though!

I could not leave Paris without a new pair of second skin jeans from April 77:) The black top is also new - from Zara...
