Underwear on display

Underwear as outwear is huge this Spring. But is it really wearable elsewhere than on glossy paper? I tried it out and wore my new jersey bra (Topshop) over a singlet at a casual dinner party. For a bit more discrete look a threw a shirt over (Gina Tricot).

Conclusion: I definitively felt über trendy living out the runway trend. The fact that everyone's look was automatically drawn to my chest area was though undeniable. The shirt tuned everything down but I'm still not convinced that this will be repeated. Perhaps it's true what day say... not every trend is worth jumping on?

Time for putting away the winter coat

... and wear something lighter - like a field jacket. Love this look on lazy days. And if you pair it with delicate fabric (like a silk ruffle skirt), you'll create a stylish, yet all round appearance.

Venti Uno's debut show at OFW

A great thank you to Oslo Fashion Week for bringing some glamour into life!

Designer Nadya Khamitskaya is probably most known for her dance moves in Let's Dance (Skal vi danse). Naturally, her show started off with some moves.

One of the many black dresses sparkled with crystal beads.

Ups... even models struggle with the heels sometimes.

Lady in red, Charlotte Thorstvedt.

Goodie bags!

The Perfect Leather Jacket

Leather jackets were frequently seen at the Paris Fashion Week A/W 2009.

Everyone should own a leather jacket that fits perfectly. The perfect leather jacket ages beautifully and will follow your look for years. Here are a few nominees:
For the budget diva: Suede biker jacket from Cubus

For the rich girl: Studded biker leather jacket by Alexander Wang. From MyTheresa.com

For the trendy Scandinavian: Biker jacket from Acne in lamb leather.

Shoulders are back

It all began with the Dynasty's power dressing in the 1980s...

Photo: Style.com

..then designers like Balmain caught up with the long neglected trend in S/S 2009, and keep it going for Fall 09 as well.

.... and here I am today, trying on a figure clinging dress WITH shoulder pads at H&M.

And guess what?! I actually like it! The (light) shoulder pads actually give my body the right proportion without feeling like an American football player.
Lesson learned: Never say never - Even shoulder pads deserve a second chance!

Matthew Part II

Siden denne kolleksjonen vil bli tilgjengelig i alle H&M-butikker, øker dessuten sjansen for å få fatt i noen av plaggene betraktelig.

Flashdance at Cubus

--------------------------------
The classic movie, Flashdance has given inspiration to these two tops from Cubus, that you'll find in stores now. Perfect with black leggings and preferably these stretch PVC ones from Sass & Bide

That Perfect Leather Jacket

Find me on Polyvore
Skinnjakke-trenden fortsetter for fullt inn i neste sesong.

---------------------------------------------------------
Leather jackets are still hot and will remain in fashion for the next season. I'm on the loo-kout for one of the softest kind, with the optimal fit and comfort - to wear with everything from dresses to jeans and skirts and oversize t-shirts.

Kate Moss' Style Tips

------------------------------------------------------
Kate Moss' Christmas collection for Topshop is now available at Topshop.com.
Here, the trend setting miss shares some of her styling tips (click on the picture to enlarge). Too bad there are no Topshop stores in Norway - yet.

Rain In The City

Even though it's pouring with rain, there's no need to stay out of fashion. Dress up in a Macintosh trench, like this one from Rag & Bone/Shopbop, bring the feel good umbrella by Tibor Kalman (available at Nasjonalgalleriet in Oslo), and go dancing in the rain in water proof rubber wellingtons from Hunter. The shiny leather bag from Balenciaga completes the look.

Yellow Yellow

Insiped by the nice sunny weather, I go for yellow!

Let the sun reflect your clothes like the woman in this picture by The Sartorialist or bright up your white tee with a plastic pearl necklace like this from Cubus.

This girl from Oslostil wears her yellow perfectly.
The tube dress is available at H&M looks summer bright and will fit just as well at the beach as in the city, depending on how it's styled.

As bright colours come and go in the world of fashion, I would opt for the less expensive high street stores when shopping for yellow. This is a typical summer trend, so there's no need to splurge out on the most exlusive designer wear. H&M, Zara, and Gina Tricot all have plenty of styles that don't ruin your holiday budget:)

The voluminous Dress

You will hardly find a more comfortable piece of clothing than a voluminous dress. It's easy to wear and can be styled in a dozen ways.
The dress in the left picture is from H&M, while sienna Miller rocks up hers with a crop leather jacket and black tights.
Both of them look smashing!

Vogue Goes For the Solarium

Although I dislike tanning beds, I was quite stunned by the inventiveness of this photo spread in The French Vogue's May edition. I've never seen something like this before, but the light from the solarium gives a cool effect on the pictures.
Who says bikini shots can't be done off the beach?!?

Mini Dresses at Elle Style Awards 2007

No doubt what's hot when it comes to party outfits these days . At Elle Style Awards 2007 taking place in London on February 12Th, most of the guests were going for the "short cut". Lots of beautiful mini dresses! I think I'll be heading for the gym, cause these styles require well toned legs. The smith machine, here I come!

H&M invites you to a preview of the Victor & Rolf collection that will be launched the 30. October and in stores the 9. November. The collection includes men's wear, ladies' wear AND shoes!
Personally, I fell completely in love with the red ballerina skirt. Lovely stuff! And with those shoes...
