My New Rocco

Bag: Alexander Wang. Maxi skirt: Filippa K. T-shirt: Forever 21. Scarf: H&M. Shoes: Office. Hand cuff: eBay.

Say hello to the new member of my handbag family! We ran into each other at Barneys, South Beach Miami, and he had me at "Hi, how're you doin'". From that moment, I knew we belonged together.

By the way, wearing my Filippa K maxi skirt for the first time since 1999 (yes, I've waited ten years for the trend to return, haha!) I've felt like a geisha all day. Now I understand why Asian women always walk so slowly. These skirts make it impossible to keep a normal pace!

Start saving for Mulberry's fantastic Fall/Winter collection!

I'm usually not a big fan of bags with pattern, but with Mulberry I gladly make an exception. I simply love, love, love their entire bag collection. Must sell some of my old stuff to finance one of these jewels....

Mulberry Delights

Mulberry has come a long way since their classic ladylike sling bags. With the new Daria collection, they pump up the size of the signature logo and take use of a modern high-shine leather finish. The result: An energic, fresh, though perhaps not that long-lived style.

My Alexander Wang

Ever since I first laid my eyes on Alexander Wang's handbags, I've secretly craved for one myself. The design is fun, fresh and casual, which makes it the perfect bag for the summer.
This pinkish colour looks slightly worn and the leather is soft as butter. With this hobo hanging on my shoulders I'm good to go (with my hands free!).
And lucky for me it was marked down by 50% at Barneys CO-OP New York :)

Ready for strolling the streets of New York:
Jacket: April 77
Shirt: Matthew Williamsson for H&M
Shorts: Levi's
Sneakers: Nike (that's just one of the things I love about the States: Cheap sneakers!)

The New Favourite Member of the Mulberry Family

--------------------------------
Mitzy Hobo is my definitive favourite amoung Mulberry's newest designs. Its silky soft leather, golden colour and slouchy shape makes it perfekt for everyone who wants a bag that goes with everything. Compared to other design handbags, that tend to be quite heavy, this is surprisingly lights. That's before you fill it with all your essentials, though...
I bought this bag for a friend of mine at Heathrow, London - I bet she will love it!

Watch out for Dylan

------------------------------------
I'm known for my passion for beautiful (and exclusive) handbags. This laid back, yet georgous "Dylan Folding Tote" from Linea Pelle is not unique. Still it is a piece of arm candy I can picture myself with this summer.
Preferably accompanied by gladiators, cut-off shorts, a white singlet, and red nails!
Always good-looking Whitney Port from The City works it really well.

New Used Bag

A great budget tip for those who don't feel like spending a fortune on bags (but still want the crème de la crème) is to buy secondhand. At online marketplaces like Finn.no (Norwegian) and Lauritz.com (Scandinavian) it is possible to come across great deal on secondhand authentic designer bags. Some are even brand new or very little used. Of course, one should be aware of fakes, but with some bag knowledge and common sense (if the price it's too good to be true, it probably is) these are not too difficult to reveal.

Recently, I bought this lovely Mulberry Jaquetta bag. The seller, a lawyer who seemed to be even more crazy for bags than I am, sold the bag because she never used it. And because she had lost the receipt, I got it for a ridiculously low price. As it is truly authentic and in superb condition, I don't complain:)

Mulberry Sale On Now

As some of you might know, I have a true weakness for handbags. Sadly, (from a financial point of view) my taste is rather exclusive. I always fall for the bags within the most expensive range. It's not because I long to wear the "it" bag just for the sake of acknowledgement. Rather, I value real leather, good quality, and original styles. These unfortunately don't come cheap, but I like to think that their life time value will be higher than a bad quality fashion bag.

I'm always up for a good steal, though. Hence, I warmly welcome Mulberry's seasonal sale. The above bag, Emmy, is my favourite, and it can be yours for half price.

Check out their beautiful marked down bags here.

My Neighbour is Nice

Apparently, my neighbour must be either very rich or a bit stupid to throw away this metallic leather bag from Bottega Veneta. The bag and the cute looking scarf was placed in a box together with some other stuff in the basement. The box had the following note tagged on: Please help yourself. What's left will be given to the salvation army (Fretex).

The bag is just lovely and fits great with the summer's metallic trend. The leather feels nice and soft, but still I'm a bit doubtful. Can it really be an authentic Bottega Veneta? I'm not that familiar with their bag, but I do know they're high class. Can anyone help me with authenticating it?

Real or faux, the bag goes well with today's simple outfit, that's comprised of a sweater from H&M and jeans from Fornarina

Studs and Spikes at Mulberry

Studs, spikes and outrageous patent leathers combine with the craftsmanship of the traditional high quality leather goods brand - the exclusive work of renowned designer Giles Deacon has created a decadent and futuristic vision which is now available to explore on our interactive website, Mulberry.com

This is the sales text from Mulberry, traditionally known for its classic hand bags and travelling gear. Needless to say Giles Deacon's collection represents something brand new. I like the buckle clutch, and the patent bracelet rocks! However, the items are probably not meant for those who want to "invest" in a classic, all round Mulberry bag...
The charm, as pictured above, might come come in handy on a late walk home, though. The spikes look sharp enough to scare away most stalkers...

Weekend Escape

Whereas most of my scandi sisters were spending the weekend shuffling snow and struggling through the minus degrees, I enjoyed the mild and sunny Paris January:-)

The sales were on, and most department stores were packed. Thus, I ended up strolling through the less dense Marais and Rue St Honoré. Much more comfortable and inspirational. Furthermore, I couldn't believe my luck when I ran inro the stunning black Chloé Paddington tote marked down by 50 % and another 10% with the tax deducted! The bag has black hardware that makes it go with everything - just what I was looking for:)

My Edith is Here

As a novice Net-a-porter-shopper, I must admit I had some doubts before placing my first order for this Chloé Edith handbag. Would there be extra taxes? How was the delivery time? When you put that much into a bag (and it was on sale!), I guess this kind of scepticism is far from abnormal.

However, all concern was set aside, for the web shop handled its business well. From placing my order to delivery it took 4 working days. As the parcel was shipped from the States, that's more than satisfactory to me.

Also, the price given at checkout is the real price and includes both taxes, duties and shipping. In other words, no bad surprises;)

Finally, as a Norwegian customer, I found out that the prices converted in dollars give far more value for money when converted to NOK than as for euros or pounds. Thus, if shopping at Net-a-porter, I advice you to choose the American version of the site.

Net-a-porter SALE

Net-a-porter has started their extravaganza seasonal sale with reductions up to 40 percent.
Many nice things!
For bag ladies, like myself, there are several tempting offers on handbags.
My long time craving is this Chloé Edith. I really want a black tote, and this one is lovely.
However, the bag is still quite expensive, so I need to be sure whether it's a long lived classic that I will carry for years.

Any opinions on what to do?

Chloé Goodiebags s/s 2007

Chloé has launched their spring/summer 2007 hand bag collection. I love them all!
As I really need (or yearn for...) a big black bag, I fell for this Round Edith. Plenty of room, cool stitchings, and yummy leather.
Check out the rest of the collection here and tell me which one is your favourite?
