I also snapped up this classic Kashmir sweater. Great quality, style, AND price!

Nor could I resist this pale pink balloon skirt at just 99,- With the black cardigan, this will most certainly make a cute Christmas party outfit.

December Weekend in Paris

Next weekend will be spent in Paris:) I'm looking forward to see the city dressed up for Christmas, decorated shop windows, and monuments covered in lights...
I have never before been to Paris during the Christmas season, but I'm sure it will be glorious!
Hopefully, I'll get to do some Christmas shopping - as well as a few treats for myself=)
Since my last visit, I've had constant cravings for crêpes, so that will ddefinitelybe on the eating agenda.

Today's Outfit

Today's outfit consists of a white shirt that I got from a marked in Shanghai, a bolero from Bik Bok, my favourite black jeans from Acne, Art boots from Paris and a 80's belt from my mom's closet.
Black and white like reflections of the weather...

Recycled Candles

I love candle lights and usually light a few every night. However, when the candle is burned down, I always end up with a lump of left over paraffin wax. Instead of throwing it, this can easily be brought into new light.

What you need
Left over Paraffin wax
Wicks (can be bought at pharmacies and in DIY shops, like Panduro.
Glassware (like these from IKEA or old jam jars)
Old casserole
Vanilla extract, cinnamon or potpourri (optional)

How to do it
Melt the wax in a casserole, add some scent of your choice, and pour the liquid into glassware. Add the wick and let set (this takes only 10-15 minutes).

Voilà! Your recycled candle is ready to be lighted - or wrapped into gift paper as a Christmas gift:)

Give Me an Apple!

This necklace from Kenneth Jay Lane, Net-a-porter is on my wish list for Christmas. With its gold chain and apple pendant it is both classy and cute and goes perfect with most dresses and simple tops.
Me want!
PS! The necklace is cheaper if you buy it from Patricia Field, and as FashionFiles commented on her blog, you'll get 20 % discount if you buy it today:)

Psychedelic Dressing

Today's dress is from this week's sample sale at Skøyen. It is a Jeff Gallano dress, a brand I've actually never heard of before. The pattern is pretty wild, though, but also one of a kind.
Shoes bought in Copenhagen, Chloé inspired bag from Shanghai and stockings from H&M.
The necklace is from Dyrberg/Kern.

The Party Season is Here:)

November/December are probably the months of the year with most parties and social happenings coming up.
First out was my company's Christmas party, which was held at Klosteret in Oslo.
Last night's outfit consisted of the Victor&Rolf dress, shoes from ASOS and stockings from H&M. The purse is a subscription gift from Costume.

Vintage Shopping

Via a friend of mine I got the opportunity to buy some authentic vintage dresses. All items origins from Norwegian clothing confections, probably from the 60's and 70's, and are in mint shape. None of them had ever been used and their tags were still intact.
Apart from looking great, it feels good to wear a little bit of Norwegian history:)

Bond Premiere Party

Friday was the big movie night with the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale, followed by a party at Cosmo in Oslo. Daniel Craig acted impressively well and convinced as a worthy Bond.
I also loved seeing Mads Mikkelsen acting the part of the villain. Recommended!
My outfit of the night consisted of a dress from Sinéquanone, necklace from market in Bangkok, and a leather vintage purse.

VR Online Shopping Frustration

The Victor and Rolf hysteria continues... At 00:01 parts of the designer collection were launched at H&M for online shopping. Still craving for the trench (that I was not allowed to buy from the store as the one I found in the store had a rift on it's arm and therefore had to be sent back to the the head office...), I logged on to the site in due time.
The speed was extremely slow, but at last I managed to click on the trench icon, get the right size in the shopping bag and proceed to check out. Everything seemed to work surprisingly fine. The jacked was almost mine!
But then, as the order was verified the trench suddenly turned out to be sold out! Really annoying when I had "reserved" it in my shopping bag.
Thus, I ended up with nothing but frustration and an hour less sleep...
Did anyone of you have similar experiences?

Lover of Jeans? Look Out for April 77

These are my new favourite jeans!
In Paris I discovered April 77, a Paris based brand originally designed for Musicians and people into any underground scene. All their jeans are unisex, comes with a plectrum in the front pocket, and are well affordable. These cost me 80 euros and are, in other words, perfect for all economical fashionistas!

More Paris Boot Shopping

The best thing about shopping abroad, is that you can buy stuff that is not sold in Norway.
I'm not 100 percent sure whether these boots can be found hereabout, but at least they stood out from the crowd of black boots - like taken straight out from Moulin Rouge:)
The brand is Art and origins from Spain.

...so I went to H&M

I didn't line up for the morning rush, but I couldn't resist to pay an afternoon visit to check out the Victor & Rolf collection launched today at H&M.
As expected, the key items, like the pink skirt, the shirts and the trenches were all sold out, but I did find some nice pieces.
The underwear was lovely, pure silk. Mmm!
The dress looked nice in the store, but trying it at home, I'm a bit unsure of it. On the on hand, it will be perfect for work and day time use, on the other hand it tends to look a bit "old lady-like". What say you?

Get Ready for the Tara Jarmon Sample Sale!

22 and 23. November at 11.00-18.00 Fashion4 arranges a new sample sale, and this is promised to be a good one!
At the sale you'll find sample from brands like Tara Jarmon, Dyrberg/Kern (lovely jewelleries), Sophie Faroh, Saint Tropez, and More and More.

I have good experiences from their former sales, so if you like bargain hunting, this is the place to be. Last year I bought a really nice winter coat from TJ that I later saw in stores at 3000 kr more than I paid for it (I gave 2000).
Address: Vognhallene at Skøyen in Oslo.

Paris Snapshots

Paris is said to be the City of Love, and with its beautiful surroundings it's no wonder why.

Here is some of my personal recommendations:

Best shopping area: Around Les Halles, for instance Rue St. Honoré, Rue Tiquitonne, Rue de Jour etc. Just walk around, and you'll find small cute shops with clothes, shoes and aaccessories that make your credit card go crazy...!

Best boulangerie: Paul's will not disappoint your palate and is found all over the city.

Best macrons: Ladurée at Champs-Élysées and St. Germain serves the most delicious macrons I've ever ever tasted (and the first!). Their relatively expensive, but you will not regret.

Best romantic garden is above all the wonderful Jardin de Luxembourg

Best dinner deal and my favourite so far is the pittoresque "Pot de Terre" in a small rue close to Rue Mueffetard. Here you'll get three meal menus for 20 euros including wine and a cosy atmosphere

Lining Up For Louis Vuitton

When I read in a magazine about people lining up for the Louis Vuitton flagship store on Champs-Élysées, I thought it was a joke. However, this picture taken today speaks for itself. Yes, people actually do love the monogram bags, and apparantly they don't mind queueing up to 30 minutes to visit the store.

Don't they know there is another LV boutique just down the Rue Montagne? Or do they simply prefer lining up like it's just another tourist sight?

Prepared For Winter

Someone told me something about snowing in Oslo, so I figured these Timberlands boots would be suitable for winter walks. And with a golden shine, they also look quite funky:)

Salut from Paris!

Finally a post from my very fashion, yet not so economical trip to Paris:) Here in the city of la mode, pains au chocolat and macrons, the sun is shining and I'm about to do some street fashion inspiring café hopping in St. Germain. A bientôt!
