Short Wear Shopping

Shopping for bikinis is not my favourite on my shopping list. Trying on this minimal cover-up outfit in March, when the body hasn't been exposed to sunlight for 7 months, is a real moment of truth. The sharp lightning in the dressing room doesn't actually dim the vision of pale, winter looking complexion , either.

Despite this, I was happy to find the exact kind of beach wear I had in mind when I wasn't even looking for it=) It all happened at H&M, of course...

By the way, Does anyone have an effective self tanner to recommend??

At Zara, I found these metallic linen shorts. I was looking for some shorts to wear over stockings, and these can even been worn with bare legs for the summer. Love them already:) (although they require ironing...)

A Sunshiney Thursday!

I love Spring! I just can't praise this season enough. Knowing that the Winter now belongs to the past and that Summer is not far away, makes me jump with joy:)

While relaxing in the sun, I was wearing this:
- T-shirt from Bik Bok
- Cut off Diesel jeans
- Knee high socks from H&M
- Bag from Chloé
- Necklace bought in Thailand
- Sunglasses from a market in Shanghai
- Silk Scarf - from a flea market

Day Dreaming...

What is better on a gray day in March than letting the mind travel to a place far far away - where the beach is desert, the breeze is warm, and the food is fresh and spicy. To match the golden skin, I'd slip into this dress from Ellos, a short sleeve crop jacket from Topshop, bracelet from ASOS, mesh bracelet from Net-a-porter, shoes from Miu Miu, and bangs and purse from Chanel.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Today's Outfit: Going Graphic

Today I combined the Lindex dress with a black top from Bik Bok, stockings from H&M, and shoes from ASOS. The black pearl necklace is new - bought it really cheep from a Dyrberg Kern sample sale earlier this week.

Saturday's Outfit - Dinner with Girlfriends

I had a great time Saturday night with my girlfriends at my friend's: Three course dinner and lots of good talk and giggling. After two nights at the hospital (My heavy chest pains turned out to be lunge embolism, caused by the pill!) and a week turned upside down, I was relieved to get back to "normal" life again.

The dress is from H&M, while necklace and shoes both come from ASOS.

My Favourite Chocolate Cake

Since today's my boyfriend's birthday, I had the perfect reason to make my Chocolate cake favourite. The cake is juicy and tasty, and with squash and refined rape oil, it's (close to) healthy too!

Chocolate Squash Cake

170 g dark chocolate (70 percent cocoa)
3 dl plain wheat flour
1/2 tsp becarbonate of soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp vanilla sugar
1 1/4 dl sugar
225 g grated squash
2 eggs
1 3/4 dl refined rape oil (or sun seed oil)

Mix together flour, bicarbonate of soda, cinnamon, and vanilla sugar. Add sugar, grated squash, mixture of egg and oil, and melted chocolate. Bake the cake in a spring form cake tin, at 180 degrees, for
50 minutes or until the cake is set, but slightly wobbly in the centre.

Chocolate Icing

150 g margarine
5 dl powdered sugar
1 dl cocoa powder
3 tbsp strong coffee

Spread the icing evenly over the cake while it is still warm.
Serve your lucky guests and enjoy!

Back On The Blogging Track

After a weekend away from the city and Internet and a couple of days of not feeling so well, I'm finally back with updates.

Today's outfit consists of a new dress from Lindex that I've combined with some good old stuff from my wardrobe: Pashmina scarf, silver belt from Thailand, and shiny stockings from Wolford. I'd actually totally forgot about these stockings, that I normally use once a year with my national costume. However, with the return of glossy thick tights, I found out that they deserve more than the once-a-year wear.

Studs and Spikes at Mulberry

Studs, spikes and outrageous patent leathers combine with the craftsmanship of the traditional high quality leather goods brand - the exclusive work of renowned designer Giles Deacon has created a decadent and futuristic vision which is now available to explore on our interactive website, Mulberry.com

This is the sales text from Mulberry, traditionally known for its classic hand bags and travelling gear. Needless to say Giles Deacon's collection represents something brand new. I like the buckle clutch, and the patent bracelet rocks! However, the items are probably not meant for those who want to "invest" in a classic, all round Mulberry bag...
The charm, as pictured above, might come come in handy on a late walk home, though. The spikes look sharp enough to scare away most stalkers...

Go Shorty

At first I thought it might be too short to be worn as a dress, but after seeing this picture of
Sofi Fahrman I decided to give it a second chance. As long as I make sure to not pick up stuff from the floor, I guess it works...?
Shoes from ASOS, vintage necklace, and stockings from Wolford.

Music and Lyrics!

Today, I went to see the new movie featuring Hugh Grant, Music and Lyrics, in which he plays the role as a fallen 80's pop star. The movie is cute and entertaining, but the highlight is definitely this music video by the PoP's - PoP! Goes My Heart (Grant's character's pop band). The song is SO catchy, and Hugh Grant's hairdo and dance style is totally hilarious!
(I failed to post the video directly from You Tube, hence I had to use a link...)

Saturday's Party Outfit

Saturday night I went to my friend's birthday party wearing my new dress from H&M (that you might have seen in the ads), pulled together with a silk ribbon. The necklace and shoes are from ASOS, eel skin purse from Becksöndergaard, while the leggings are cut off tights.

My outfit of today consists of

- Turtle neck from H&M
- Lilac stockings
- Angel wing necklace from eBay
- Handbag from Chloé

Elle In My Mail Box

Yes! Elle UK edition is by far my favorite fashion magazine. Since buying it from the news agent's in Norway is expensive, I'm now happy to proclaim that I've started an subscription:)
Both cheaper and much more convenient!
If you want to follow The Fashion Economist, here's the link to the subscription site.
