Dinner Party Outfit

Family dinners are great for wearing heels as they usually involve very little walking or standing:)

My silver shoes from ASOS has been well worn this Christmas, here accompanied by the balloon skirt from H&M, a cardigan from Isabel O. Christensen and a necklace from Dyrberg/Kern.

My long time craving is this Chloé Edith. I really want a black tote, and this one is lovely.

However, the bag is still quite expensive, so I need to be sure whether it's a long lived classic that I will carry for years.

The beautiful bracelet is a Christmas present from my dear boyfriend. It's really decorative with swarovski crystal beads and a chunky silver plated chain. Love it already!

Friends Gathering at Make Up Store

Instead of just going out for dinner, my girlfriends and I decided to do something different this time. Thus, we booked a make-up course at Make Up Store at Majorstua.

With three hours of training and testing of all of the store' s products this turned out to be a great success!

Apart from being instructive (I learned a lot of new techniques) it was such a nice social event that I warmly recommend to all group of girlfriends.

The course is 200 Kr each, and you'll get 20 percent off everything in store. Of course, we all ended up with great indulging in glitzy eye shadows and other "essentials":)

Personalized Christmas Presents

Last year Norwegians spent almost 1.5 billions in total on Christmas presents. Lots of these were probably things that we didn't really need or presents bought in desperation or to make up for guilty conscience.

However, sometimes the most appreciated gifts are those you make yourself. It doesn't have to be that complicated, nor very expensive. All required is some imagination and time.

A great idea is to make gifts that can be eaten, like muesli, as shown in the picture, home made chocolate or jam.

Another gift that most certain will be appreciated is a personalized CD. Collect music that you know the receiver will like, burn them on a CD, and create a suitable cover picture.

Movie Review: The Holiday

OK, it might be unrealistic, it might not be very complex, and the story might be slightly unbelievable.

However, it did make me laugh, it did make me weep, and I did find the characters quite charming. Perhaps I was coloured by the fact that I was watching the movie alone on a Saturday night in an almost empty cinema, but even still, I found the romantic comedy, "The Holiday" both entertaining and sweet.

The movie will have its premiere in Norway on Friday 15.Th, but if you find it hard to wait, check out its trailer here

The Perfect Dress for Christmas

H&M Delivery!

Here is the result and the review of my first H&M online shopping experience.

Grey kashmir sweater : I love the soft quality and the fact that it doesn't itch at all. The style is classic, not so long as I thought, but it can still be worn with a belt or a silk band for a more defined look. A great basic piece to my wardrobe.

Light pink balloon skirt: Flat packed it looked horrible, like a stuffed away rain coat. However, after a few shakes and some ironing, it transformed into the skirt I remembered from the web shop picture. The quality is a bit stiff, but definitely worth its 99 kr.

Black cardigan: The puffed sleeves and the silk band make this cardigan stand out from the crowd of black cardigans. The quality is light and delicate. Great to be worn over formal tops or dresses.

I can't wait to match these new items with my wardrobe=)

Ebags to Norway

Finally a Norwegian online store that sells handbags!
At ebags.no you can buy computer bags, travelling goods, and luxerious hand bags. In March, they'll even start to sell Prada and Fendi.
Honestly, I didn't really find anything worth buying, but if they get the Fendi Spy in stock, it might be worth surfing through. And since the site is Norwegian, there's no duty:)

Duty Free ASOS Shopping:)

After been craving for this leather and 18 ct gold bracelet from CC Skye for months I finally decided to go for it. As I managed to get 35 % off the price wasn't too bad, and it's really really lovely!

By addressing the delivery to my boyfriend in Paris I also avoided the very annoying import duty:)

I think I will do this more often. Suddenly Internet shopping became less restricted an more fun!

Music in My Mail Box:)

When I returned from my weekend in Paris, I was greeted by this pleasant surprise. My sister had sent me her own composed Christmas CD crammed full of personally selected Christmas tunes dedicated to me:)

Putting on the CD, I was inspired to decorate my apartment for the holiday. After unpacking my suit case I hoovered and washed all floors, dusted all surfaces, and cleaned the bathroom. Then I replaced the girly pink decor with a dash of red and gold accessories and a few hyacinths, my favourite flower for December.

Puh! It took a while, but now I'm ready for Christmas Bliss:)

The big department stores in Paris like Lafayette and Printemps might be too expensive for Santa, but window shopping is without doubt a great source of inspiration for all.
